M/S Office 97 Compatibility with Win XP Home Edition

My older computer with Windows 98 OP System finally died. I recently purchased a new computer, Compaq Presario which came with Windows XP-Home Edition. My question is : Is my M/S Office 97 (SR2) Version, compatible with Window XP?? I have been unsuccessful thus far in finding an anwer to my question. I have enjoyed my Office 97 program very much and would like to keep it if possible. But have been afraid to attempt to install it on my new computer as I have heard there have been many compatibility problems with pre XP software programs. Can someone please provide me with feedback on this. I would appreciate your experienced/ knowledgeable response. Thanks

The answer is: yes, Office 97 will work fine. Get any updates to Office
97 from Microsoft (if still available) to ensure best functionality.
