lsass.exe terminating unexpectedly

on shutdown of Win2000 installed
laptop, "c:\winnt\lsass.exe has terminated unexpectedly
with status code 1073741819"

Have validated SP4 is installed, also have Novell client
installed, not sure if this is causing part of the
problem..

any help appreciated.

However, if you are up to date with your service packs, that may not be the
solution.

There is also a piece of malware that installs a counterfeit lsass.exe.

Looked at the SP got it, checked the registry...nothing
indicated on the web site in there...might be re-
installing an OS today.
