Lsass.exe system error; Object name not fount

My problem seems to be different from the ones in the other news group items.
I am runnng XP Home, have the latest Windows updates, Norton Anti Virus,
firewalls and have also scanned my complete system numerous times with
several different virus tools in both Safe and Regular mode. Everything
shows no virus.

After completely booting up, I get the error message. If I try to click on
Ok or the X to close right away, it automatically sends me into reboot. If I
ignore the error message and use some other programs, I can come back later
and close the error box and everything seems to be ok.

I tried going back about 15 days to an earlier restore point but that
didn't help.
Any suggestions as to how I can get rid of the error message problem?

Thanks for your interest.

Yes, that is all the words in the message box. The object name is not
given. After the message there is an "OK" to click on as well as the close
"X" in the upper right hand corner.

I am not sure what caused this but prior to this happening, I did go to a
password for my logon in order to be able to schedule tasks. Before that, I
just logged on without a password. Not sure if this is linked to my problem
or not.
