Lsass.exe system error; Object name not found

My problem seems to be different from the ones in the other news group items.
I am runnng XP Home, have the latest Windows updates, Norton Anti Virus,
firewalls and have also scanned with Spot S&D. When I boot up, I get the
error message shortly after I enter my password and then my system shuts down
and comes back up and asks for my password again. When I enter it, my system
boots up and then I get the error message again. As long as I leave the
error message showing, my system seems to work okay. After using the PC for
awhile, I can even click on the "ok" and get rid of the message. I tried
going back about 15 days to an earlier restore point but that didn't help.
Any suggestions as to how I can get rid
of the error message problem?

George, thanks for the response. I read thru the recommended material and
checked the recommended actions. I have already done the recommended actions
and have the recommended download (835732) installed on my computer. Any
other suggestions?

Dave, thanks for your response. I have downloaded the 4 suggested items in
Procedure 1 to my desktop. When I went to Safemode though, none of the items
showed up on the Safemode desktop. What did I do wrong?

I assume you went to Claymania web site. It is in my signature and wasn't part of my post.
My post was to refute the false claim of a LSASS exploit by Internet worms such as Sasser.

While the steps for Trojan removal ar valid, I wasn't sussting them becuazse you problem is
with hardware or software of the OS and not infector (malware) related.

What your problem is I don't know but running the utilities suggsted on my Claymania web
page is not going to help.

Thanks. I did run all the software though in both regular and safe mode and
no viruses were discovered. But because my problem is as you said, I still
have it.
