lsass.exe going haywire

I have a win2k machine at SP4 and virus free according to
AVG's latest definition file. It runs great until the
moment I log in to my isp (dialup) when lsass.exe goes
crazy and consumes 95-100% of my cpu and brings the
machine to its knees, even after I log off. The only way
to get my machine back is to reboot. Any ideas?? THANKS
in advance....

logs. Where would they be located? c:\ ?? filename??
