ls120 on secondary ide causing error 1117l request could not be performed becaus

I have had ls120 for long time, upgraded mb and installed
sp2. now my bios recognizes my ls120 ,but when I insert
any disk system slows down and after awile displays error
message "request could not be performed because of an i/o
error. What could be causing this?

I am not sure how you replaced the MB and installed SP2, but I would
recommend a clean install for that. Backup your data, boot off your XP
CD, choose to format the drive NTFS (Quick), and install Windows again.
You may want to slipstream SP2 into the XP CD first though. Here is a
