lpr jobs getting deleted

L

Lyndon Frei

Hi

I've got a new Print-Server Running with a shared queue which is paused.

When sending regular jobs to it, they will spool and wait in the queue as
expected.
But when I send a job with the lpr command, it just blinks up in the queue
for a split second and disappears again.

In the SystemLog I see an informational event (ID13) for that case with an
explenation that the document owned by System has been deleted.

Has anybody seen such a behaviour? I would appreciate any tip...

TIA
Lyndon

The everyone group was indeed missing in my custom spool directory.
I added it and also the creator owner group analogues to the original
spooldirectory.
But unfortunately my problem persists.

Any other tips?

verify that the spool directory allows write access for everyone. The
default spool directory is windows\system32\spool\printers.

SYSTEM
MACHINE\Administrators
MACHINE\Power Users

should also be in this happy group. If SYSTEM is missing, that's the
problem.

I usually give Full Control to all but the default setting for Power Users
is:

Traverse Folders
Read Attributes
Read Extended Attributes
Create files /Write Data
Create Folders /Append Data
