Low virtual memory

D

Derek

I don't know if it is coincidence, but shortly (maybe
immediately...I cannot remember) after installing a bundle
of Updates from Microsoft (about 2 to 3 months ago) my
system has become troublesome. I am getting low virtual
memory errors on a fairly regular basis. I am receiving
other errors sometimes when I try to run MS Office
applications. I am even having difficulty getting onto
the Internet. The system was running fine for the past
two years without doing any MS Updates. I decided to
update since there was a lot of publicity about a new
virus at the time, and I don't run any virus protection
software. Any ideas or advice would be appreciated. I
suppose I could try reformatting the HDD, but what a
hassle...

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION:
Windows 2000
Office 2000
Pentium III 866 MHz
256 MB RAM
(HDD: 45 GB) x 2

Thanks in advance...

If you haven't applied SP4 yet, I would.

Use Control Panel / System / Advanced / Performance
to set the Pagefile to 384, 384 on both the C: and D: drive.
