please help : virtual memory err

hi,
i get this error every time i have a more than 3 applications running
simultaneously.
i have done everything i can to fix this. please help .
the error reads as follows.
"Application popup: Windows - Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low : Your system
is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of your virtual
memory paging file. During this process, memory requests for some
applications may be denied. "

the page file sizeon my computer is 463 mb and ram is 256 mb. i run windows
2000 sp4.

It's NOT an error. It's simply notifying you that the PC RAM is
inadequate for the programs you are running, and is shifting things to
the harddrive paging file. You can set the paging file to be 3 times
memory, OR install more RAM.
