Just ran 3dMark06 nad I ended up with 4494.

Somebody with virtually the same system except with an extra 100mhz on his 3700 had 7000+ marks.

Could this be to do with the new driver?

Is that with or without BOINC running? I noticed i got a bit of a droop with it running in the background, although it makes no difference in games.

How is game performance?

That was with most background programs off.

Games run alrgiht, but I can't really judge how they SHOULD be playing.

My 7900gt is overclocked anyway, so it should be right up there...?

well, try droping the overclock on your video card and you CPU and test it again.
Just cause the machine is stable dont mean its performing any better.

I dropped the cpu overclock and I ended up with a slightly lower score, so it isn't that. And the card is factory OC, not mine.

They seem to be compeltely random yet consistent. I was looking on some forums and a bloke with this:

A64-3700+ Sandiego / Abit KN8-SLI / 2GB Infineon BE5 2335-1t / XFX 7800GT (469/1232mhz) / X-Fi EM / 36GB Raptor.

Got 3250, which is a fair bit lower than mine, which makwes sense as I have a better graphics card.

Yet sometimes people seem to end up with 3000+ points than me.

Weird.
