Lovsan problem

R

Richard

After installing the Blaster patch and running AVG 6
antivirus software, the Lovsan and Nachi worms were
removed. However when the computer is inactive a message
is displayed saying AVG has found the Lovsan virus again
and the software should be run. After running the
software it found no trace but the message still pops up
again when the computer is inactive.
The message points to:-

C:\system volume information\_restore{745383CE-A334_4986-
AE3F-267D77D99CAD}\RPS\A00020S.exe

Any ideas

Richard;
The virus is still located in system Volume Information (System
Restore data)

Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes ALL Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.

Richard,
You should turn off system restore before scanning your computer for
viruses and worms .

Windows prevents Antivirus programs access the restored files, thus your
antivirus may find the infected file , but not able to modify it.

Right click " My Computer " > properties > System Restore > Turn off system
restore in all drives .

Then scan your computer for viruses.

Hope this help
