LOST VERY IMPORTANT PICTURES & AVI MEDIA! - PLEASE HELP!

When I noticed that a folder within my briefcase NEEDED UPDATING, I did just
that. I updated the folder, which had several other folder in that...and I
lost all the AVI & Jpeg files IN EVERY FOLDER!

How on earth do I recover them?
I tried restoring my computer to the previous day because that was my last
resort and the end of my knowledge with this problem and that didn't work.

Please help someone. I really, really ....would appreciate this!!

You can try a third-party restore utility like Restoration. Freeware.
