Lost touchpad controls

I had a nasty set of viruses on my vaio laptop so i bauoght xp pro and installed it
Now my touchpad cant be manipulated with any controls and this tapping thing is driving me nut
, can anyone help me.

Reinstall the touchpad drivers. Check the Sony web site for the latest
touchpad updates.
