Lost .pst file after XP reinstall

I backed up the wrong Outlook .pst file before reinstalling WinXP Pro
vers. 2002 (reinstall without HD reformat), and now the .pst I want
isn't there. Is there any hope for me?

All the files in my Program Files folder seem to be there, but I'm
missing the .pst file that was in the default location inside the Local
Settings folder.

I was on XP SP2, but since the OS reinstall I haven't reinstalled SP2.

Also, when I boot up, before the OS loads I get a choice of two Windows
installations to load. But only one will actually boot up--the other
returns an error message that Windows
"could not read from the selected boot disk." If I could somehow load
the other Windows installation, might I have access to my missing file?
Yes, I suppose I am dreaming.

TIA,

Joel

The dual option in the boot is your minor problem now, that is easily
fixable. did you search for the PST?
For future reference, move the PST file to a different drive or folder, it
saves a lot of aggravation. Do you have any types of backup?
