Lost PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse

Hi:

I have a Sony RX660 desktop computer with XP Home Edition installed. I have lost both the keyboard and mouse that are using the PS-2 ports. When booting up the lights appear blinking on the keyboard just before the Windows screen appears. I can hook up a USB mouse and it works, but not the PS-2 mouse. So my main problem at the moment is restoration of the keyboard.

I deleted the keyboard driver thinking that it might be corrupted etc; however, upon reboot Windows did not find the keyboard and reinstall the driver. I know that power is getting through to the keyboard due to the blinking lights etc.

Any help would be most appreciated in telling me how I can restore the keyboard and mouse using PS-2 ports. Using the on-screen keyboard is not a viable option.

Thanks,

Tom

P.S. I originally posted this in the General Newsgroups, but afterwards thought it more appropriate to post in the Hardware Newsgroups.

Hi Don:

No I have not receive any replies to date. Apparently no one knows how to
resolve this problem, other than buying a USB keyboard and using it. I
already have a USB mouse connected and it's working fine.
