Lost password- unsure of the user

windows xp used to give me the options of clicking on my
user name or guest. Now the screen says"to begin click on
user name ----the little square and my user name, as well
as "guest have disappeared"! All I can do is turn off the
computer! On the double click delete command I have user
name, owner and a blinking curser at password. Since I
didn't set it up, I have no idea of the password and the
lady that put it together is "gone".
