lost outlook express files

i got a win98 machine with outlook express and other applications
installed.then i upgraded to win xp. i did this by, installing win xp over
win 98.after the installation, all the application files are still there but
not the outlook express database files i used to have. can i still recover
this files (.dbx?)..thanks!
