lost old email account

had some problems with pc so reinstalled xp pro. need to find old emails.
Was told that there is a kernal that is on pc that has all my old emails.
Can some one tell where that kernal is and where to put it so I can get my
old emails. thanks.

had some problems with pc so reinstalled xp pro.

Did you do a format and then an install or did you do a Repair install? If
the former, you have no hope of recovering your old mail. If the latter,
enable searching hidden files and folders and search for *.pst
