Lost my Wirless oneectin upgrading to XP Pro

I just upgraded from the XP Home that was shipped with my
Inspiron 8500 to XP Professional to allow network access
at the office. Prior to the upgrade I had no problem
accessing my Linksys wireless home connection.

I purchased the Microsoft XP Professional Upgrade and
installed as instructed. After the upgrade, I cannot get
the PC to talk to the Linksys. I downloaded the latest
Truemobile 1300 driver, and the latest Microsoft XP
updates and rebooted everything. I checked the wireless
card utilities and it can see the Access Point, I removed
WEP, removed MAC filtering and enabled broadcast etc but
still no wireless connection to the router. IP Addess
assignement is set for DHCP

The Linksys seems to be running fine as I can see a
strong signal and have no problems when I connect via a
wired Ethernet port.

Here are some specifics on the software and driver
versions

Dell Truemobile 1300 adapter 4.5
Chipset: BCM4306/BCM2050
Driver: 3.20.23.0
Date: 6-13-2003

Microsoft XP Professional version 5.1.2600

Did you consult Dell prior to upgrading to XP Pro?
Your laptop came with Dell's OEM XP Home.
Laptop's can be notoriously proprietary.
If you upgraded with a Retail XP Pro, you may have
voided your Dell warranty, and created some incompatibilities.
Have you checked to see if the XP Internet Connection
Firewall is enabled on your wireless connection?
If so, turn it off.
