Lost my desktop

I was installing a MS windows essential update and when I
restarted my computer, I lost my desktop, including my
start button. How do I get it back? I am able to access
the internet via an alternate user on my computer. Thanks.

what you do is u press ctrl+alt+delete click file, new
task (run...) and then type in "explorer" and your desktop
should appear, thats happened to me before. hope i helped!
