Installed a usb touchscreen lcd on a point of sale computer today. When I
installed the lcd software (driver and app), the installation package found
the one COM port listed and things went okay. I was able to use the
touchscreen for a brief time while I loaded the POS software. Then I loaded
a usb scan gun and a LPT printer port receipt printer. After that (not sure
of the cause and effect, just noting the timing of things), the touchscreen
would not work. So I reinstalled the drivers, but the installation returned
an error that "No COM port found," and it aborted. So I unplugged
everything except the keyboard, mouse, monitor, and the touchscreen's usb
cable and rebooted, thinking perhaps the scan gun had stolen my one COM
port. However, same thing happened during the installation - no COM port
found.
Anybody have any suggestions? Sorry if I've left out important info.
Wasn't sure what to put in and what to leave out. I messed with it for
almost 2 hours.
thank you,
