"Lost" My Browser (IE6) ?

I ran a Norton scan because I got a warning about some spyware. It found
something, deleted it and said all was well. Now, I can't open my browser
(IE6) at all....I click on the icon and get the hourglass for a couple of
seconds, then nothing happens. I'm "connected" I guess, since I can receive
mail in my Outlook and read/post to these groups. Also, I can download the
bank stuff into Quicken, so everything seems to be ok except for the fact I
can't open a browser. Could I have somehow deleted the program with that
Norton scan? IE6 is still listed in my program files folder. I'm at a
loss...is there a way to restore it of something? I don't have any discs
that say Explorer...this is the browser than came in the PC (HP Pavillion
524w Windows XP). Thanks for any help!

Tom, re:
" It found something, deleted it and said all was well."

It found "what?"
Deleted "what?"
What said "all was well?"

Not enough info, Bryan.

The Norton scan found 2 spyware things: "SpywareQuake" and
"Adware.SpySheriff". After it found them and "corrected", this is what the
log entry said (it was the same for both):

Source: Manual Scan
Risk Category: Adware
Overall Risk Impact: Low
Action Taken: Removed
1 File:
c:\windows\system32\wfkdvei.dll - Reboot Required

So, I rebooted at that point. I can receive/send mail and post to these
groups thru Outlook Express, but the browser just won't open. Hope this is
the type of info you were looking for. Thanks.
