lost msn messenger and can't get it back

I accidentally uninstalled msn messenger. I have now followed all the steps
at msn to re-install, and it tells me I can open. but i can't. I click on
'Open Messenger'' and nothing happens. I go to the Start menu and no msn
messenger Icon shows

Well, you might consider loading Windows Live Mail. It's an upgrade from
Windows Mail and painless to load. One of the options is to load a new
Windows Messenger with it. Kill two birds...
