Lost Folder with many emails inside

I have a Vista opersting system with windows mail (Not Live) and earlier
today I was trying to move a folder from my inbox called Yvonne from the
bottom of the screen (as it is listed alphabeticaly) to the top of the screen
to be the first visible folder when I click on my Inbox.

I did this by left clicking on the folder called Yvonne and whlie holding
the mouse button down I then moved the folder towards the top of the screen.
However, when I then let go of the mouse button the 'Yvonne' folder
containing several important emails has now disappeared. I have opened up all
other visible files in my Inbox; Outbox; Deleated; and Local but still cannot
find it.

I have closed Windows mail since and reopened it but still cannot find it.

Is there anyone that can help me trace where this missing folder with my
emails in has gone please as I am despearate to get these emails back.

You can try a couple things. It may have been moved under another folder.
Check to see in the folder list that there isn't a plus sign next to another
folder and your lost one may be underneath it. Otherwise go to the message
store location (Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance | Store folder will
give the location) in Explorer and see if you can find the Yvonne directory
underneath the Local Folders directory somewhere. If so, see if the eml
files are still there in that directory. See also
www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx for background.

Its a good idea to backup the message store frequently.
