lost floppy drive

Been using my a: drive for my 3.5 disks -- then all of a
sudden, although it says device is working, the drive
isn't-- how to I manually install a new driver? or what
else is going on -- if anyone can help, pls reply
 
You could right-click "Standard floppy disk controller" on Device Manager
and click Uninstall and then scan for hardware changes and it should be
reinstalled. If it is not, you probably have a hardware problem.

Does it work in safe mode?
What changed lately?
Have you checked the connections?
