Lost files on system restore

A system restore was done on our computer and we cannot
find the files that we created over the past year. Where
did they go?, we looked in all of the obvious spots. (we
are using Windows XP home edition)

A system restore was done on our computer and we cannot
find the files that we created over the past year. Where
did they go?, we looked in all of the obvious spots.

Do you mean a run of System Restore to restore the system to a previous
date (which should not have affected any of your data files), or that
you ran a Restore disk that came with the machine? Those start off by
reformatting the disk to put everything back to the exact state it came
from the factory - with all files other than those deleted.
