Lost File During BackUp

I was backing up some photo files today and I know not how, but I lost
a very important folder. I was using a program called Sonic RecordNow
that was Dell bundled with my computer, Windows XP Pro.

Is there anyway I can try and recover it myself?
 
I forgot something VERY important...
While I was trimming down to fit my data on CDs, I was clicking on
images really fast, picking them for DELETE, and the computer started
doing a file transfer and I have no idea what it was doing, deleting
or copying. I have searched my HD and cant' find it.
