I was having some nagging problems with my Office 2000 software and decided
the best thing to do would be to uninstall Office and reinstall it again. It
is the older Office 2000 Standard Edition. About 8 months ago I got a PDA
and needed a newer version of Outlook in order to communicate with the PDA.
Outlook 2002 came with the PDA which I installed and have used for the last
few months without any problems.

When I went to Add/Remove programs to remove Office 2000, I noticed that it
listed both the Microsoft Office SP and Microsoft Outlook 2002 on two
separate lines. I assumed that Outlook 2002 was then being treated as a
separate program. I unistalled Office 2000 and then reinstalled Office 2000
using the Custom option. I did not install Outlook 2000 (since I assumed I
already had Outlook 2002 on my computer) and didn't want to overwrite my
Outlook 2002 with the new install of Office 2000. After Office 2000 was
installed I realized that Outlook 2002 was gone! Now I have lost all of my
emails since converting to Outlook 8 months ago. I did a search on my hard
drive to look for any .PST extensions and none were found :(

Ironically I went back to Add/Remove programs and there were still two
listings of programs: Microsoft Office 2000 and Microsoft Outlook 2002.
Interestingly the icon for Outlook 2002 within the Add/Remove programs
changed from the Outlook Icon to the Microsoft Shortcut Bar Icon. ??

I am currently using Outlook Express as my email program and have my old
emails up to the point when I converted over to Outlook 2002. Can anyone
tell me if there is a way to recover my lost emails from the time I switched
to Outlook 2002?

Is there an undelete feature within XP Pro that could possibly recover them?

I am running a Toshiba Laptop P4, Windows XP Pro.

Thanks to anyone who can give me some guidance here!

Gord
