Lost Desktop, Office profiles

I renewed my subscription to Symantec Norton 360, it was not renewing after
24 hours, so I contacted Symantec Support on line chat. He remotely installed
a version 2, and when my PC restarted, my desktop had totally changed. I had
lost my sidebar gadgets, icons were huge, Outlook acted as though it was a
new installation, as did other office programmes. The other user account on
the same PC is OK. Just mine is kaput. Please someone help as I need my
Outlook Mail & contacts.
B.T.W, Symantec wasted 6 hours of my time trying to get Norton 360 to work,
and finally did, but in doing so have stuffed up my Vista profile. They are
blaming Microsoft and don't want to help.

Hi Rick,

1) Uninstall the Norton software

2) System Restore to a point before the problem.

3) Contact your credit card company and have that payment reversed or
withheld. Then find a different product.

Hi Rick,
After the second Symantec 'support' guy messed with my PC & wanted to
uninstall 360, I suggested I go back to a restore point. I found one a week
old, so selected it. 20 minutes later, Vista came up saying it couldn't
restore to that point. Then the rest of the shannagans started with Symantec.
There seems to be a few 'NTuser.dat files in a public folder, what are they
for?
