I had a problem with my hard drive so ran the XP files and setting wizard to
transfer everything off the drive to an external drive.
I now have 12 DAT folders each around 2Gb in size which I am assuming
contain all my data....
How do I recover/restore this data/programs from these folders?

Any help greatly appreciated

You prompt another thought. The other persons problem may be one of File
Association. Trying right click, selecting Open With and browsing to the
name of the original programme that created the file on the first
computer and double clicking could well open the file and create the
file association needed to open the other files.

have tried to use the xp file wizard to import the data but it wont work?!? I
basically copied everything off the drive in one go and it ended up in 12
folders?!?!? I am sure there must be a solution to this - but what it is I
have no idea!!!

Hello,

EASEUS DataRecoveryWizard utility can help. Speaking about me, it was
easily able to restore deleted, lost file and unformat drive,
so I think you will also find it quite useful. Really recommended
tool, give it a try.
