Lost data in Add/Remove Software

I had a trojan that had fun deleting information as to installed programs in
the Add/Remove Software section. The programs are still runnable, but to get
them to run I have to find the program in Programs on the C drive and run the
exe file. Is there a way to search the system and re-setup the information
in the add/Remove software section without reinstalling each software program?

Updating my Symantech virus protection requires uninstalling the previous
version, which proves to be impossible. My ADD/REMOVE program is dead in the
water, does not open or react in any way by clicking Add or Remove in the
Control Panel. Same problem? Please, contact me at:
(e-mail address removed) if your opens, I suspect i have a missing exe. file.

Hi trantonb1-

does your Add/Remove program open when you click on it? I cannot open it
with my WINDOWS XP program. Need to remove an old Symantech to install update
but am not able to. If yours opens, then you have something I
don't....possibly an exe file?
Could you check, Please?

Yes it opens as always, but it populates no programs.
