Lost contents of email messages

Two days ago I lost the content of all my email in my inbox and in my sent
box. I have no idea what happened. They are not in my recycle bin nor in
any of my other files. Any ideas? Thanks.

To make sure they are actually lost, instead of just hidden, do this for
each
of those folders: Click on the folder, then View, then Current View, then
Show All Messages.
