lost communication with modem XP & HP OfficeJet 590

Printer won't print from any application.It was working
O.K. until I put new cartridge in.
 
Check your printer manual as to whether there is a reset button when you
change cartridges... and that you have removed all necessary tabs etc from
the actual cartridge.
