Lost clicking sound

My computer has lost the clicking sound from the speakers when navigating a
web site. How to get it back?

Open the control panel's sound applet (use classic view for easier access)
and in there, on the sounds tab, set the sound under complete navigation to
start.wav (not the Windows XP Start.wav - you don't want that one every time
you open a page) and you should be all set.
