lost bootup password

I have forgotten the password that I need to get into setup on my XP SP
computer. Is there a way around this? Thank you
 
Remove the battery from the M/B for about 1/2 hour. This will clear the
cmos/bios customized settings and will restore the default settings.

Look in the Motherboard's or Computer's Manual on how to short out the CMOS
by jumpers to clear passwords and other info or follow Richard's advice.
 
Thankd for your help. The only thing is I tried it for one hour and i
did not clear. Then I tried overnite and it did clear. Wish all m
problems were as easy to fix.
