lost Association

I have Windows XP. I use Agent 2.0 as my newsreader. Somehow I've lost
the association of my .gif, .jpeg and .jpg to the Windows Fax and
Image Viewer. When I try to open a file, a window pops up and asks me
to select the application I want to associate with it. I have no idea
where the Windows Fax and Image Viewer is kept on my computer.
Can someone enlighten me, please?

Click START|RUN
Type...

regsvr32 shimgvw.dll

and see if that fixes it

If not, respond here

Right click on the file you want to open. Select open with, move down to
Choose Program. Windows Fax and Image viewer should be on the list.

Start - run the line
regsvr32 shimgvw.dll

You might like as an alternative to try the free IrfanView program as a
viewer - an excellent product and will do more than just provide a view.
It will crop; resize; print and adjust color rendering too

You guys aren't understanding me. The problem occurs withinForte
Agent. When I came across a jpg previously, I could right click it and
select launch, and Windows Fax and Image Viewer would display the
picture. Somehow the association to this program has been lost. Now I
get a window that asks me to locate the program. I'm asking if anyone
knows where the .exe program resides. I've checked Windows system and
system 32 files and can't find it. I've run a search and come up with
nothing. If I can find out what the program is called, and where it
is, I can point the browser (that's withing Agent) to it and
re-establish the association.

it's not an exe. the command line would look like:

rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\SHIMGVW.DLL,ImageView_Fullscreen %1
