Lost all files in MY DOCUMENT due to power outage

Joe

Windows XP- My son had his user box open and was working
on a school project. He left to go to school and came
back. The power went out due to the GFI tripping. When he
turned the computer back on, he went to his User box all
of his files in MY Document were gone. Vanished !! We
switched to the other kids user box and their files in My
document were OK nothing happened to theirs. I did a
search for one of his files and it was empty. Looked in
the recycle bin and nothing was in there. I also did a
system restore and that did not work.
Is there anything else I can try to get back his files??
All of his homework projects are in there.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe

If those files have been deleted , you may be able to retrieve them with a
3rd party program:

http://aumha.org/freeware.php#restore
http://www.execsoft.com/undelete/undelete.asp

System Restore wouldn't have helped, as it doesn't monitor data files.

You'll need a third party program to recover them, if, indeed, you can. I
suppose the words "back up" have suddenly become more important, yes?
