lost address in toolbar afetr sp3 update

Wayne

I had a spot on my toolbar where I could enter a website address and keep a
history of them.
After I ran the sp3 update it was gone and I can't see how to put it back
on. It doesn't seem to be one of the options
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks
Wayne

I was hoping for more on this issue but that web site looked liked the only
well documented solution.
The problem is that even following the instructions posted on how to
implement the fix,
who's to say that some time in the future a Microsoft update will not
replace the SP2 or SP3
"browseui.dll" file with a newer one and then your back to square one.

Hi
I had the same problem. Easiest solution is to hit Windows key + R and type
address there.

Wayne,

I seem to remember reading something about this a little while ago in a
magazine.

Apparently MS have had to remove this feature as part of the whole
anti-trust court case thing, as it made people use IE to access the web.

I do know there are some fudges to get round this, but I wouldn't rely on
any of then working for any length of time, as I wouldn't mind guessing that
MS will be required to close any loopholes as oon as they can.
