Hello,
Running HP Pavilion a1138.uk Win XP Home SP3.
I recently had no tools button which used to be on the right-hand side of
the toolbar. This issue was corrected as a direct result of installing 7 MS
updates. I was reluctant to install these updates, for it was the
installation of the SP3 that created the problem of not having a tools button
in the first place. Everything was fine before installing SP3. The
insallation of SP3 was done via the yellow shield that appears from time to
inform me that there are updates available. That is the history of how I came
to install SP3. Now for the subject matter.

When Internet Options in the drop-down menu is clicked, nothing happens.
This is also the case in Control Panel when that icon is double clicked. I
didn't expect it to behave differently, but we try these things, don't we?

I have searched different XP links within the MS site but have not yet found
a solution to this problem of Internet Options. Please help.

Thank you.

Thank you, nass, for your reply. I downloaded and installed IE8 after
searching and up to now it appears to have corrected the issue with Internet
options. I can now access I.O. no problem, but thanks again anyway.

Glad you got it sorted, but bear in Mind IE8 is still in Beta Stage!
Good luck.
