lost a word document

That depends on how you lost the document.

If Word crashed, there should be an AutoRecover file available.

If "Always create backup copy" was selected in Tools | Options (Save
tab) you can open a previous *.wbk version of the file.

If the file was never saved, there is nothing to retrieve.

For more, see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/AutomaticSave.htm.

help! I lost a word document that took 2 hours. can I find it
somewhere?

Hi Stefan,
It was not checked but "allow background saves" was as well as "Embed
linguistic data" any other suggestions based on that?
Word did not crash.
