Lost 2 years of emails?...§!!

I had most probably a disk crash, and the Outlook.pst file is now empty.

however, I found ~Outlook.pst.tmp created at the time of the crash, and this
file contains about 1 Gb of data that I want to restore.

How do I do that?

It is not an ordinary .pst file, and can therefore not be read by Outlook.

Pls advice

Copy the file to your Documents folder, then on the copy rename it to remove
the .tmp suffix.
Then locate and run scanpst.exe, the repair tool, on that copy. Does it run?

I tried your good suggestion, but the scanpst.exe just answered me that my
file was 'not recognized' and 'no information recovered'

Another idea is greatly appreciately.

Then you would need to use a third party tool to attempt to recover the
data, and I cannot reccomend one.
This all goes to show the need for data backups on external media
