Can anyone help I have a pioneer dvd114 dvd rom in my
computer and when I installed windows xp it does not
respond and will not work. What can I do to get this
problem sorted. Sorry for such a stupid question but only
a novice and do not know anything.

Many thanks

You probably had some old drivers around that do not work in XP, and
which it consequently left out, but there are still references to them.
When such 'orphans' are found, the start up leaves the device disabled
for safety. To tidy up, get a registry patch file, cdgone.reg, from
www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip, extract it, r-click on it and merge
it into the registry

You will then need to reinstall any third party CD/DVD burning software
that you use.
