Loss of mouse

I recently installed Word 2007, and the mouse doesn't work inside the
program. It can pull up the main ribbon options, but it won't do anything
inside the document. It works perfectly in the other Office apps.

Also the program won't open Outlook emails. I have to save them and then
open them in Word. The program also acts like it is crashing when I close it
and wants to reopen the program.

We have tried reinstalling the whole suite, but we have the same problems.
Any suggestions?

OH PLEASE! Someone answer this post! This is happening to me. I've tried
uninstalling and re-installing several times. I've uninstalled i-tunes and
other apple programs. I've googled fixes and deleted some kind of opa12.dat
file and NOTHING WORKS!

1. Close Word.

2. On the Start menu, choose Run and type "regedit," (without the quotation
marks). This will open the Windows Registry, which (if you're not familiar
with it) has folders that are navigated just the same as folders in Windows
Explorer (My Computer).

3. In the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder, find the Word Data key at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data

4. The "key" will be a folder named "Data." Delete it. Word will build a new
key upon startup.
