loss of cd/dvd drivers

Diane

I tried both of the following suggestions and It says it
finds the drivers but gives me a code 39 that they may be
corrupted. I went into the registry to the cd and dvd
drivers areas and I think that my roxio cd creator maybe
had corrupted them as there were entries there that were
related to this program. I tried to reinstall the
drivers from off the mfg web site and one of the drivers
won't load, says its corrupted off the web site and the
other one wants me to type in a command as the c:> ...
command and it says that it's not the right file path.
Any other way of reinstalling them other than wiping my
hard drive clean and then how do I reboot from the
installation cd if it won't recognize my cd drive???

Thanks I will try this out but one more question. How do
you guys find these knowledge base answers? I tried
typing in "Roxio" "easy cd creator" and code 39 in the
search function of the newsgroups and nothing was pulled
up. I must not be using the search function properly and
would REALLY like to know what I'm doing wrong so I can
find out my own answers sometimes without having to
bother anyone.
Thanks

You're welcome.

Actually, I've found many of the articles in the past. When I find
something useful that addresses issues that come up often, I add it to my
Favorites list which in my case has a sub-folder devoted to the Knowledge
Base which I further divide into sub-categories.

Nonetheless, you ca try searching the Knowledge Base in addition to the
newsgroups as it might save you some time and steps:

Hi

I tried your suggestion and my drivers have reappeared on
the list but they still are not functioning. When I went
into the registry there was a lower filter-which I
deleted but no upper filter to delete as per the
instructions. (I could not back up the registry as it
said not enough room on the floppy disk) Now what do I do?

Thanks in advance
Diane

Fully uninstall your the burning software you are using, reboot the system
and reinstall.
