losing system restore points, from booting in safeboot mode?

Hi Everyone,
Yesterday, I decided to fix a computer problem by using system restore.
After checking that I had restore points, I decided to use system restore in
safeboot mode. So I after booting into safemode, I found that I had no longer
had any restore points. Appartently, booting to safemode deleting them.
Any ideas why?
