Losing pull-down menus in IE6

I mistakenly hit some combination of keys that have made each web page take
up the entire screen such that I've lost the pull-down menus, minimize icons
and web address options at the top of the page. How can I reinstall the
normal default for standard display?

Press the "F11" key.

If that does not help, reset the layout settings in the registry using this REG:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/reg/IEToolbar.reg
