Losing network setting.

I'm losing my network setting after a reboot. I can reset the information
and close the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window, but when I
re-open the properties window it displays that my setting is for "Obtain an
IP address automatically" Does anyone know why this is happening and how I
can fix it so that when I configure my properties with an IP, DNS and
gateway information it stays after I reboot.

Are we talking about a server or a workstation?
Have you tried removing TCP/IP and Client for Microsoft Networks, reboot and
installing them again?
