Losing internet connection

After computer is idle for a given amount of time, I lose conection to
internet and have to reboot to get it back. I am using a linksys router(not
wireless) win XP,
Norton int. security. I Tried power management options, router setup
options to no avail. Any suggestions?
 
Try going to Start->Control Panel->Network&Internet...->Network Conn.
Right click on your connection (probably Local Area Connection) and choose
Properties. Under Gernal tab, click on Configure button (near the top).
Select Power Management tab. Make sure "Allow the computer to turn off this
device to save power" is unchecked.
