Losing 'copy and paste' function

Lately I am periodically losing the 'copy and paste' function. It doesn't
matter if it is within a program I working on or between programs. I select,
copy and then find that the paste function is 'faint' and unavailable to me.
If I reboot the function is usually restored, but sometimes I have to reboot
more than once. Does nay one know what might be going on and how to fix it.

This has to do with some application that's having a lock over the Windows
Clipboard. David Candy's application should determine the Process that's
causing the problem.

Download GetOpenClipboardWindow.zip from here:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/temp/GetOpenClipboardWindow.zip

Unzip and run the tool. Post back what it reports. For best results, run
this utility during the time you encounter the Copy<=>Paste problem.

Dear Ramesh,

I lost the copy and paste function again today. I downloaded the David Candy
program you mention below and ran it. It tells me there is nothing wrong with
the clipboard function. So, I still don't have a clue as to what is coasing
this problem. I reboot and the function is restored...........for awhile. Any
further ideas??

You may try running the utility again (exactly when you face the copy/paste
problem). If that does not help, try clean booting the system to isolate the
problem.
