Paste function loses formatting after several pastes in multiple a

I have looked on online but haven't seen any solutions for the following
problem.

In the last couple of weeks, my paste function has changed.

I can paste correctly for between 5 and 40 times, but at a random interval
the clipboard loses the formating of the text I have in the clipboard and it
will paste just text. I have to go back and recopy and then it will paste
again when for another 5 to 40 times.

This is so frustrating when you are working in a document that requires
1000-1500 pastes.

I have duplicated the problem in Wordperfect, Word and Dreamweaver.

I have a Windows XP system. Any solutions? Please?
